OSP ARCHITECTS -  Michael Manfredi and Marion Weiss
Michael Manfredi and Marion Weiss

Michael Manfredi and Marion Weiss were chosen to be the architects of Seattle Art Museum's new Olympic Sculpture Park. The site Weiss/Manfredi was handed came with lots of pluses. It borders a rare slice of downtown waterfront. The views are spectacular, with a 180-degree sweep of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. It sits at the edge of downtown with its jutting skyline. There is the constant display of shifting Seattle light and dramatic sunsets over the water. All that was obvious. "It's what you dream of as an architect," Weiss said. "A project that in some way changes the way people engage the city, the way they engage nature, the way they engage art.
